The Acropolis with LEGΟ® bricks and a lot of imagination

Gandalf (aka Lord of the Rings) has been seen at the Athenian Acropolis and not far away Alexander the Great is currently chatting with Diogenes the philosopher too! Oh and look, right here, the gods of Olympus, Poseidon and Athena, are having their famous battle for the right to be the protector of the city of Athens!

Alexander the Great speaks with philosopher Diogenis who lives in a barrel because he is very poor. Alexander tells Diogenis that he can offer him whatever he asks for and the philosopher replies: "move aside please, you are blocking the sun".

Well … almost!

You see all this and more is playing on the second floor of the Acropolis Museum where the LEGO Acropolis model stands! This model built with over 120,000 LEGO blocks has all sorts of historical and mythological personalities featuring amongst the monuments! The model was a wonderful gift from Australia’s Nicholson Museum to the Acropolis Museum. Take a look at it here or see it when you come to the Museum!!
